Many large national security companies have come out with a program of selling you an alarm system for $99.99, installed. This has effectively cut out the small independant security contractor.  But what the national company does not tell you until later is that they have you sign a 3-4 year contract with monthly alarm monitoring fees at $40-50 dollars per month. So they will still get their $2,000 dollars plus from you through the “backdoor”. Then they will still leave the fees at this  high rate thereafter which is all gravy for them. But you don’t have to play their game or get snared into their trap. This product may cost just a few bucks more but you will save thousands of dollars in monitoring fees plus you may also get an insurance discount for installing an alarm system.
